Our curriculum is based upon the needs of our pupils focusing on maximising each child’s academic potential whilst developing their independence skills and life skills.
Pupils make excellent progress at SSSC accessing a wide variety of appropriate qualifications including GCSEs, Entry Level qualifications and Princes Trust accreditation.
We also offer high quality provision for our older pupils, these vocational Key Stage 4 courses include Electronics, Small Animal Care, Horticulture, Outdoor Learning, Skills for Independence, Food Technology, Creative Digital, Art, Music and Drama.
We work successfully with other agencies including the Learning Disability Child and Adolescent Mental Heath team (LD CAMHs), Social Care and Community Police. In addition we purchase
therapeutic support including Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
Our Pastoral Team provides fantastic support to our pupils both within the school and the wider community. It is led by Mrs England, Co-Headteacher, and includes the SENCos, Family Liaison Worker and Positive Support Lead. This team allows us to ensure we meet the social and emotional needs of our young people and also support families wherever possible.
We are proud of the work we do at the school and if you think our school would be a suitable option for your child then please contact the school on 01773 602198 to attend an open evening or gather further information.
