Sherwood Space Observatory

As part of Nurture 4’s Autumn Topic: Our World and Beyond, our young learners have enjoyed a wonderful range of educational experiences. We began with a joint visit to the Sherwood Space Observatory with Nurture 3 to explore planets and our solar system, making lunar models and learning how telescopes work. This awesome experience was followed by Nurture 4 visiting the Alfreton Library to further research planets and space exploration. These learning experiences supported Nurture 4 to create their own class script for a TV news report about Apollo 11 moon landing. The children enjoyed directing and participating in this class challenge that showcased their learning and promoted their bravery, teamwork and communication skills in a fun and entertaining way.
