KS4 Nurture enjoyed a visit from Adi Marriott (District Explorer Scout Commissioner Ripley and Heanor District Scouts and Alfreton District Scouts) on Monday afternoon, as part of their Life Skills session. Pupils were invited to build a fire, cook a meal and sing camp songs together in our Forest School Area. This opportunity introduced pupils to the Scouting community and the out-of-school activities that they offer.
As a direct result of this first-hand experience, pupils are now excitedly planning to write their own leaflets, as part of their English Curriculum, to persuade others to consider Scouting as an adventure-filled, fun hobby.
